Profile: Louis Saint-Jacques

Louis Saint-Jacques is a partner with ID Capital. Saint-Jacques has more than twenty years of high-tech and financing experience, mainly in evaluating new business opportunities. Saint-Jacques holds a master's degree in business administration with a specialization in Small- and Medium-sized Enterprise Financing. Previously, Saint-Jacques served as a strategic financing advisor with the Canadian Technology Network. He was responsible for putting deals together by connecting entrepreneurs and financiers, including angels, venture capitalists and bankers, to fund their companies. In a very challenging environment, he was responsible for financing many high-tech start-ups. In 2001-2002, Louis was an Investment Manager in the venture capital group of Telesystem.  Prior to Telesystem, Saint-Jacques spent 10 years at the National Bank where he contributed to the successful launch of the Knowledge Based Industries Financing Group. During his tenure in the financing group, he was able to acquaint himself with thousands of companies and met numerous entrepreneurs in Quebec and across Canada, which helped him develop a vast network of contacts in the traditional and non-traditional financial sectors. Saint-Jacques is one of the founders and a current board member of Réseau Anges Québec, www.angesquebec.com, a not-for-profit organization which facilitates angel investment in high-tech start-ups. He is also a director of the Société d’Investissement Jeunesse, www.sij.qc.ca, whose mission is to offer loan guarantees to young entrepreneurs. He has been and continues to be an advisor to several technology start-ups.
