Henry Vehovec provides strategic consulting, financing and interim executive services to growing businesses through Mindfirst Inc., (www.mindfirst.com). Mindfirst focuses on helping companies that are developing clean technologies and sustainable energy strategies as a source of competitive advantage. Mr. Vehovec is a member of NACO’s Board of Directors, Sustainable Development Technology Canada’s (SDTC) Investment Committee and an advisor to Cleantech Angel Network. He is Managing Director of CleanTech North, a consortium that helps commercialize Canadian clean technology companies and is Session Lecturer in Innovations in Technologies and Organizations in Global Energy Systems at University of Toronto's Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, Centre for Global Engineering.
Henry Vehovec was the creator and co-chair of the first Angel Investor Summit in 2001. He conceived and co-wrote The Primer for Angel Investment in Canada published in 2003 and 2004, and was the founder and inaugural President and Chair of National Angel Capital Organization (NACO). During his tenure as President, when the organization was known as the National Angel Organization, he recruited founding members from coast to coast, led the research and strategic planning efforts, established the first board, and acted as spokesman to the media at numerous public engagements. In recognition of his dedicated volunteer efforts the NACO conferred on Mr. Vehovec the title of Honorary Chair Emeritus and lifetime membership in 2005.
Mr. Vehovec holds an engineering degree from the University of Toronto, an MBA from the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business, has completed the Owner/President Management (OPM) Program at the Harvard Business School and received ICD.D certification from the Rotman School of Management’s Institute of Corporate Directors Corporate Governance College. |
